Stable Door Pottery has re-located to the 'Downstairs' Studio in the Shanagarry Design Centre this past year. After my move I have also re-vamped my product range.
My pottery headlines in the fully functional tableware collection - it is also microwave safe, dishwasher and oven proof.
1. Painted Flower Range
There are three dominant ranges, the first is the 'Painted Flower Range' - each piece is hand painted, and inspiration for the design originated from the fluid lines of a Lily. The main colour is a classic cream with green, red and black lines.
2. Gold Range
The second range is called the 'Gold Range'. Inspiration for this colour came from the shimmering light that shines from crystals. This is captured in the Bold Gold Glaze. This finish is two toned with an original cream compliment.
3.Fusion Range
The third range is called 'Fusion' - This range is hot out of the kiln, proving very popular already. This range is my newest development. My background in clay was working a lot in hand-building and so one day I decided to fuse the two styles of pottery production together; hand-building the throwing. I took ideas of old and manipulated them to suit the thrown pots. Again each piece is individually hand-painted and the pre-dominant colour is a smooth shiny cream.

My name is Orla O'Rourke and I am a degree graduate of the Crawford College of Art & Design. I gained experience from working part-time with other potters where I learned many techniques and skills in the trade. My inspiration comes from every day life, nature, animals, looking at cookery shows and from people telling me what they like to cook and use in their kitchens/homes. My major achievement to date is my decision to move to Shanagarry, I plan to make every success of my move and to promote Irish hand -made craft at its best!
